CUSTOM SNEAKER CARE
Protect the art. Preserve the pair.
Your custom sneakers are individually hand-painted works of art. Proper care will help protect the finish, preserve the artwork and keep your pair looking its best for years to come.
The guidelines below explain how to wear, clean, store and protect your Sierato customs while minimizing unnecessary damage.
EVERYDAY WEAR
Your custom sneakers are made to be worn, but they should be treated as wearable artwork.
Avoid heavy rain, snow, mud and other extreme conditions whenever possible. Repeated friction, scraping, hard creasing and contact with rough surfaces can gradually damage painted areas.
For the longest life, rotate your customs with other footwear rather than wearing the same pair every day.
CLEANING YOUR CUSTOMS
Clean your customs gently and only when necessary.
Use a soft cloth or soft-bristled brush with a small amount of mild soap and water. Work carefully around painted areas and avoid aggressive scrubbing, soaking or saturating the shoe.
Never place custom sneakers in a washing machine or dryer. Avoid harsh cleaners, acetone, alcohol, bleach and other chemicals that may damage the artwork or protective finish.
For stubborn stains or damage you're unsure how to address, contact Sierato before attempting a more aggressive cleaning method.
WATER & WEATHER
Your custom sneakers are professionally finished for durability, but they are not waterproof.
Light incidental moisture can generally be handled by gently blotting the shoes dry, but prolonged exposure to rain, snow, standing water or excessive moisture should be avoided.
If your customs become wet, allow them to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do not use a dryer, hair dryer, heater or other direct heat source, as excessive heat can damage the shoe, materials and painted finish.
Whenever possible, check the weather before wearing your customs and choose another pair when conditions are likely to be severe.
STORAGE & PROTECTION
How you store your customs matters just as much as how you wear them.
Keep your sneakers in a cool, dry environment away from prolonged direct sunlight, excessive heat and humidity. Extended exposure to these conditions can affect the original shoe materials as well as the painted finish over time.
When not being worn, store your customs in their box or another clean, protected area. Shoe trees or light interior stuffing can also help maintain the shape of the sneaker during long periods of storage.
Avoid stacking heavy objects on top of your shoes or storing them where painted surfaces may rub against other footwear or abrasive materials.
WHAT TO AVOID
A few simple precautions can significantly extend the life of your custom artwork.
Avoid: machine washing or drying · bleach, acetone, alcohol and harsh chemicals · aggressive scrubbing · prolonged soaking · direct heat · heavy rain or snow · excessive friction or scraping · prolonged direct sunlight or extreme heat.
Custom sneakers are durable wearable artwork, but no painted surface is indestructible. Normal wear will occur over time, and the amount will depend on how frequently and aggressively the shoes are worn.
